Rep. Juan Vargas joins the Congressional Progressive Caucus
Washington, D.C. (September 16, 2019) – Rep. Juan Vargas released the following statement:
“I am honored to join my colleagues as a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, (CPC) which reflects the diversity and strength of the American people. The CPC addresses the needs and aspirations of all Americans while delivering justice for all.
“I look forward to working with my colleagues in the Congressional Progressive Caucus to build a strong progressive network throughout America and beyond. As a CPC member, I pledge to continue fighting for economic justice and security, protecting our civil rights and liberties, promoting global peace and security, and advancing environmental protections.”
Vargas represents California’s 51st Congressional District which includes the southern portion of San Diego County, all of Imperial County and California’s entire U.S.-Mexico border. Vargas was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2012 and is currently serving his fourth term in Congress. He serves on the House Financial Services Committee and House Foreign Affairs Committee.
